Born in Tahiti, she moved to Montréal at the age of eighteen. Ten years later, both places still feel like home — one shaped by tropical light, the other by the stillness of winter. Her art lives somewhere between the two. Painting allows her to disconnect from reality and step into the worlds she creates in her mind. Each piece is inspired by memories, photographs, and the shifting colors of Polynesia — fragments of places and moments that continue to stay with her. Working mainly with oil paint, she does not seek perfect realism; she paints to feel grounded. Née à Tahiti, elle s’installe à Montréal à l’âge de dix-huit ans. Dix ans plus tard, ces deux endroits lui semblent toujours être chez elle — l’un façonné par la lumière tropicale, l’autre par la quiétude de l’hiver. Son art se situe quelque part entre les deux. La peinture lui permet de se détacher du réel et d’entrer dans les mondes qu’elle crée dans son esprit. Chaque œuvre s’inspire de souvenirs, de photographies et des nuances changeantes de la Polynésie — des fragments de lieux et d’instants qui continuent de l’habiter. Travaillant principalement à l’huile, elle ne recherche pas le réalisme parfait ; elle peint pour se sentir ancrée.
